Bar Rosa
For Allistar Cox Building and Interiors
What began as a modest brief to refresh a counter and minor cosmetic details for a new modern Italian restaurant, evolved into a comprehensive identity overhaul. Through careful deliberation and discussion with the client, Allistar Cox Building and Interiors transformed the space into a layered and rich environment.
A new layout was first established; a curved bar with integrated maître d’ station that also works functionally to separate the custom tiled pizza oven from the front of house. Constructed from warm sapele timber, the rounded edge detailing of the bar soften the space and the red within the timber glows beneath the soft lighting.
The bar is paired with new bespoke designed booth seating, also constructed from sapele. The booth seating works not only to help split the space up to create cosy zones, but also provides better pathways and protects the clientele from staff moving through the space. A backdrop of glossy pine-green tongue-and-groove wall linings and a custom mirrored wine shelf that wraps the space, works to draw all rooms together.
